Conference COVID-19 Information — July 15 2021 update

FSE 2021 will be online-first

The conference will take place online for all authors and participants from August 23rd to 27th. A parallel physical event will take place in sunny Athens, Greece on the days of the main ESEC/FSE event, August 25th to 27th. After more than a year of lockdowns and online meetings we invite all conference and workshop authors and other participants who are now able to travel, to join us presenting and discussing their work as well as meeting colleagues face to face at the conference’s social events.

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and based on how the situation unfolds, if required, we will transform the conference into a Fully Online event; every effort will be made to maintain an actively interactive character so that participants can maximize their experience under these strenuous circumstances. In such a case, ONSITE registration fees will be adjusted to ONLINE and registered participants will be refunded accordingly.

Travel Advice & Protocols in Greece

Please visit travel.gov.gr for all the information you will need to enter Greece at this time. You should also check with authorities in the country where your journey to Greece will begin as well as with authorities in the country where your return trip ends for any information on regulations which could affect the planning of your trip. Please have in mind that governmental regulations for travels across borders during COVID-19 change often so you should follow these sites often and right up to the day of your journey.

Registration Process

Registrations will be done online through www.easyconferences.org. Participants may pay instantly using their credit card (VISA/MASTERCARD), or they may choose to pay through the bank. A one-stop-shop software is used for the whole registration process, www.easyconferences.org. The whole process is easy to use, secure, and can be completed in a few minutes.

Please note that the software provides participants with the possibility to complete the registration process in steps/periodically; participants may register for the conference and return later to book and pay for further services like accommodation etc (subject to availability). The system will accept unlimited changes/updates up to the closing of the online registration process before the start of the conference.

  3. Log in: After verifying your email, login.
  4. Create Order: Create and settle your order online securely.

Early registration rates end August 6th, 2021. All rates listed are in EUR.

Each attendee must register separately.

Member rates are applicable for members of ACM and ACM SIGSOFT. A valid membership ID must be provided on the registration form.

Student rates are available only for students who are enrolled in a university or college as an undergraduate, master’s, or PhD student. Proof of student status must be provided on the registration form.

Cancellation Policy

  • In case of cancellation after the author registration deadline (23 July 2021), then the registration fees are non-refundable.
  • In case of cancellation prior to the author registration deadline, a € 50 administration charge will apply.
  • If a registered conference participant is unable to attend the conference, then a substitute is accepted at no additional cost.

I have a Journal First presentation only (no other papers). Should I register using the author rate or the online participant rate?

Please use the online participant rate.

I am organising a track/workshop/… Do I need to register or do I get a free pass?

You need to register. If you have a paper in any workshop/track, please use the author rates. Otherwise, you can register as an online participant.

I am not an author, but I would like to register for the physical event. How can I do that?
